Time Out Sydney’s Best Restaurants and Bars in Circular Quay

Time Out Sydney’s 2026 guide to the best restaurants and bars in Circular Quay is the work of a professional eater and drinker who knows the area well. Three key venues made her list. Here’s what to order at each.

Bar Patrón

Bar Patrón overlooks the Harbour Bridge from its Circular Quay dining room. Time Out called it “a restaurant bar serving up swanky Margaritas and red-hot modern Mexican eats” — and the drinks list backs that up. The focus is Patrón, with rare and limited bottles available alongside the full cocktail menu.

On the food side, Time Out highlighted “fresh tacos featuring freshly pressed corn tortillas and fiery salsas.” Enmolada con pollo, soups and taco platters round out the sharing menu. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 5 to 6pm with $15 cocktails.

Reserve at Bar Patrón.

The Cut Bar & Grill

The Cut Bar & Grill on Argyle Street is a heritage-listed underground steakhouse. New York steakhouse classics and quality produce cooked over wood fire define the menu. Forest-green booth seating and marble tables make it one of the more atmospheric rooms in The Rocks, right next to Circular Quay.

Saké Restaurant & Bar

Saké The Rocks on Argyle Street covers Japanese dining from bar snacks through to a full sitting. The drinks list is one of the most considered in the area — sake, Japanese whisky and cocktails alongside a full wine list. The menu spans fresh sashimi, cold and hot starters, and robata-grilled mains.
